Well known in industry circles and especially amongst Bentley owners, Paul Shorter retired after 35 extraordinary years with Bentley in New Zealand. The Giltrap Group has immensely valued Paul's contribution and his customers in turn have thoroughly enjoyed Pauls authentic style and warm personality. We wish Paul all the very best for the future.

Our New GT Muliner Demonstrator arrived during the quite days of Auckland lockdown. The GT Mulliner , or in some ways the GT by Mulliner , is a new model in its own right and compliments the GT , GTC and Flying Spur model range.
August saw the arrival of our sensational Dragon Red Flying Spur V8. We went full bespoke and had the interior and exterior colour coordinated by the Mulliner workshop in Crewe. Bentley Auckland along with other Giltrap Group brands took the demonstrators to Christchurch and showcased our latest offerings. Available to drive were three models including the New Flying Spur , Bentayga V8 and the latest Continental GT. Visitors enjoyed Barista Coffee and on the Sunday local Bentley owners took a leisurely drive out to Akaroa to round off what was an excellent weekend with customers and fans.
On Sunday 11th April the group raised a staggering $210,000 for the Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland through the sale of 5500 tickets to attend the Giltrap Group Supercar Show. It's fair to say that nothing quite like it has ever been done before in NZ, with the vast majority of cars being lent by customers for the enjoyment of car fans who traveled from right across the country.

For the third year running Bentley Auckland attended the Ellerslie Concourse of Elegance. On display were six brand new models including the Mulsanne 675 Edition by Mulliner , the GT Convertible and all new Flying Spur. Over 2000 people passed through the stand and visitors enjoyed learning about the latest products and a sit down in the Bentley lounge.
The 2021 Bentayga has now arrived in New Zealand, with over 1000 changes to the car, you could mistake it for being an entirely new model. The front and rear have been heavily revised along with a whole host of interior upgrades including a new infotainment system, digital cockpit, and the latest driver assistance systems.
Chairman of the ANZ Bank and former Prime Minister of New Zealand Sir John key was the guest speaker at what was the first Bentley Auckland showroom event of the year to celebrate the New Bentayga. The New Bentayga breaks new ground yet again with over 1000 changes and upgrades to the Bentayga launched in 2016. The New Bentayga features an all-new front and rear as well as a brand new infotainment system and digital cockpit.

Bentley Auckland Won the Asia Pacific Retailer of the Year Award for 2019 , results were understandably delayed due to the obvious disruptions , but it was well worth the 8 months in suspense! Awards are based on a “Balanced Score Card” which measures a Bentley dealerships ability to drive a number of disciplines, including customer experience and satisfaction.

A number of our Bentley Auckland and Giltrap Group customers traveled to Bathurst to see the 12 Hour , Bentley owners were rewarded with a terrific win from the Number 7 car setting a new distance record of 314 laps across the 12 hours. The win comes after the M-Sport team worked incredibly hard over the weekend, undertaking three significant repairs on the pair of Continentals including an overnight engine change on the #7 on Friday and a rear-end rebuild for the #8 overnight on Saturday.
A fabulous GT Convertible Number 1 Edition has been sold in New Zealand with delivery to Christchurch. The Continental GT Convertible Number 1 Edition by Mulliner is inspired by the No. 1 Bentley Blower along with the Hon. Dorothy Paget – the remarkable woman who helped turn the car into a legend. It brings the pioneering spirit of a golden age in motor racing to the modern open-air grand tourer.
On Friday 24th January we introduced some new people to the Bentley Auckland showroom. With the Karaka yearling sales happening over the weekend it was a great opportunity to host a welcome reception for guests of the Australian Turf Club from both Australia and NZ. If you're knowledgeable about racing you will have heard of New Zealander Guy Mulcaster and champion race horse"Winx". Guy Mulcaster is one of the leading bloodstock agents in the Southern Hemisphere and shared some of his life experiences with Shaun Summerfield during a most enjoyable Q&A session.
Out of a total of 15 Pikes Peak Limited Edition GT's , 2 are making their way to New Zealand. The Pikes Peak GT is based on the W12 Coupe and won this years Pikes Peak Hill Climb Challenge driven by Kiwi Drift Ace , Rhys Millen.
To mark the end of the incredible tour of New Zealand the cars drove across the finish line at Bruce McILroy Ltd in Ashburton. Bruce's workshops are set in beautifully manicured gardens and created the perfect setting to celebrate the end of what turned out to be a magnificent tour.

The Bentley Drivers Club Tour arrived in style with everyone dressing for the occasion and to mark WO Bentleys 100th Year in a way that befits the brand and celebrates the club.
The New Zealand Bentley Drivers Club and Bentley Auckland embarked on a one month Centenary Tour of New Zealand. The tour will end on Sunday 4th November at a garden party with over 60 Cars due to attend.
July 8th marked 100 Years of Bentley Motors , to the day. Bentley Auckland celebrated in 1920's cabaret style with Sheba Williams performing on the night as well as the unveiling of the incredible WO Mulsanne & bust of WO Bentley himself.
Bentley Auckland sponsored this years “What Women Want” event at the Cordis Hotel, Auckland. Attendees enjoyed Ayala French Champagne on arrival, pop-up store shopping, three-course lunch matched with wines, entertainment, a Shen Fashion show, inspirational speakers and a charity auction for The Heart Foundation.
The incredible Pikes Peak Wining Bentayga has arrived in New Zealand in time for the Leadfoot Festival in Hahei. The only modification made to the car, aside from the fitment of a safety cage, was to the front bumper to allow for additional cooling to the 600bhp, twin-turbo 6.0-litre engine. The W12 was also fitted carbon-ceramic brakes, which are an option on Bentayga models, and an Akrapovic exhaust system.
During November we visited Queenstown , Christchurch & Wellington with the all New Bentley Continental GT , Bentayga V8 Petrol & Bentayga V8 Diesel. The new GT was a particular hit given that it had never been seen in the South Island , many people commented on how incredible the technology is and absolutely loved the all new rotating display.
Bentley Auckland hosted this years Trends International Design Awards to celebrate the very best of New Zealand home design. Winners on the night were: Gary Todd Architecture (Winner Architect-designed New Home) O'Neil Architecture (Winner Designer New Home ) Matt Brew Architects ( Winner Architect-designed Renovation) Creative Arch (Winner Designer Renovation) A draw was held at the end of the evening with the winner taking home a Naim Audio Muso System designed in collaboration with Bentley Motors.
A VIP Dinner for prize winners of the Scott McLaughlin Grand Prix and other doners to Kartsport New Zealand was held at the stunning Boomrock lodge , Kauri Bay. Once a WW2 lookout for the New Zealand Army , Boomrock Lodge is a multi venue property situated on Clevedon's gentle rolling hills with amazing views out towards Waiheke, Ponui and the Coromandel
Autocar NZ have reviewed the very latest Bentayga V8 Petrol in this Octobers issue. This particular car in Rose Gold over Magnetic was ordered to showcase certain factory options including Biometric Storage , Signature Audio , City & Touring Specifications.
3 Journalists from New Zealand flew across the ditch to drive the all New Continental GT with other press from around Australia. The event covered key aspects of the new car in detail and of course a thorough drive to really enforce what a superb car this really is. On Saturday 25th August we hosted a social media and customer breakfast open to everyone to celebrate the New Continental GT. Visitors to the showroom enjoyed some traditional English cuisine including Salmon Bagels and freshly baked Scones!
Our much awaited all New Continental GT has finally landed in New Zealand. Finished in Sequin blue this sensational Grand Tourer is a game changer in its segment and will set the benchmark for many years to come.
Driven by two-time champion Rhys Millen (NZ), the Bentayga completed the 12.42-mile course in just 10:49.9 – taking nearly two minutes off the previous record by averaging 66.5 mph. “This record proves the outstanding dynamic ability of the Bentayga – demonstrating again how Bentley Motors is the only automotive company in the world that can combine pinnacle luxury and breath-taking performance. Congratulations to all at Bentley Motorsport and to Rhys Millen and his team.”
New Zealand’s only Steinway artist Jason Bae returned from his studies at the Royal Academy to give a recital tour of New Zealand. Jason was the youngest ever concerto soloist with the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra at the Starlight Symphony in the Park. The brilliant young pianist performed to our customers to pre launch the incredible new "Spirio" self playing Piano.
The all New Continental GT has arrived here at Bentley Auckland , but not quite ready for the roads! Bentley Motors kindly lent us a “pre production” model , one of their special engineering cars , to compliment our grand opening in December.
After the successful showroom inauguration on 03rd August 2017, the new iconic Bentley Auckland Showroom on Great North Road held our much-awaited official Grand Opening on 14th December 2017. More than 350 distinctive guests were present at the event enjoying live music by New Zealand’s triple platinum artist ,David Kerrison. Our new flagship showroom has been designed to go beyond any previous luxury automotive experience in New Zealand and was completed in time to launch the all new Bentley Continental GT , flown in especially from the factory in England. Sir Colin Giltrap, Chairman of the Giltrap Group marked the occasion together with David Jackson , Regional Manager for Bentley Motors Asia Pacific. The all new Continental GT is here to view until February 10th with first customer deliveries beginning in May , just after our official demonstrators arrive.
The 2nd annual Denizen Heroes Black Tie Gala, one of the most coveted events of the year, celebrated the achievements of six outstanding individuals who have contributed to enhance the greater Auckland community. As a sponsor, Bentley Auckland displayed a Continental GT V8 & Bentayga W12 at the grand entrance to St Matthews-in-the-City.
In May 2017 Eye Magazine together with Bentley Auckland launched their new lifestyle magazine released annually focused on fashion, beauty, cuisine, horse racing, motoring, travel and lifestyle. This Chinese version of Eye magazine is new to the Auckland luxury scene and was well received on the night. The event was held at the Matisse Furniture Store in Parnell and included other brand partners such as Stoneyridge,Flame Tree, Sugarcoated,Mentions NZ Sunscreen, Craig Primrose paintings & Michael Joyce.
Bentley Auckland together with the Giltrap Group assisted Karaka Bloodstock with cars at this years Yearling Sales event. On Display were the all new Continental GT and a New Flying Spur that was used to transport prospective buyers to and from the sale. New Zealand thoroughbreds have gone from strength to strength on the world stage of top class racehorses.
Here for just a week , ahead of market entry in May 2020 , the all New Flying Spur paid a visit to Bentley Auckland on February 15th. The new Flying Spur’s sharp lines, sculpted form and balanced proportions combine to create a commanding and powerful presence.
